Where do you put the weight down?

A 60-second practice for people who hold everyone else up.

Where do you put the weight down?

Hi <3

If your work is caring for people, you already know the cost. You carry other people’s pain, schedules, and emergencies, and your body keeps the receipt.

Most of us carry it without pause. The ones who find a way to set it down are practicing something rare.

Here is a practice you can use today, anywhere:

  1. Inhale through your nose for a count of 4.

  2. Exhale through your mouth for a count of 6 to 8.

  3. Repeat for 6 breaths. Let your jaw and belly soften on each exhale.

The longer exhale signals your nervous system that the shift is over. It is simple, and it works because it is physiology, not willpower.

I teach this kind of work through yoga therapy: somatic, rhythmic, and built for people who live in their heads and on their feet. Over the next few weeks I will share more of it.

I am also planning a live workshop this fall. If you want first access, reply or comment with one word: fall.

Deeply,
O
